Int Studio 1: Fake – Bridge 3 Reflection

The PDF here shows our final newspaper layout.

My role for this project was photographer and in that sense I am ultimately satisfied with my contribution; our photo selections / the photos themselves were well received. A criticism that came up though, was that things were a bit visually cluttered in some places and that the newspaper could do with a few less pictures. I feel this is a valid criticism and the abundance of images did ultimately affect the conciseness of the layout. Another criticism was our advertisement selection; the advertisement featuring Bruce Willis was deemed a bit random and out of place. Our full page back ad on the other hand, was well received. If I could change anything in this area though, it would be to make the ads more consistent stylistically. One for example, was a WWII era propaganda ad, while some of the others looked like contemporary digitally designed advertisements. The only other main outstanding criticism mentioned was some our paragraph and line spacing, which was a bit off in a few areas. This could have been easily remedied if we checked it over a little more throughly. All and all, I am satisfied with our final product. I think our front page layout in particular was unique and definitely one of the paper’s strongest facets.
