Concept art at beginning:
I ended up simplifying my story due to time constraints. I could not execute some of the ideas I pictured, such as the unicorn tied to the tree, surrounded by a fence.
At first, I started working on my backgrounds first. But I decided it would be a better idea to work on animating, then working on the scenery/background.
These are my scenes when I started working on them:
And how they developed:
Overall, I am happy with how my project turned out, except some parts where the unicorn’s movements are awkward. The scene where I am most dissatisfied is 0:53-0:55 in the video because the unicorn looks glitchy. I intended to make it stop walking and stand still to calmly gaze over the bridge, but it was really difficult for me to do that with a pre-made rig. I animated three different scenes and put them together, which is why it looks glitchy and unnatural. I would like to fix this, but I was unable to due to time constraints.
If I had more time, I would like to further develop my backgrounds, and fix all the awkward movements of the unicorn.
To add the music, I used Premier Pro.
The music I used in my animation is Debussy’s Arabesque No.1 and No.2.
