“As scarcity of land and local food in London pressures, London Fish Farm rethinks Thames River as alternative occupiable space and food resource. Instead of resisting river’s constraint of tidal movement, the floating Fish Farm conforms to it by using buoyancy and operable jointed structure system. During low tide, fish farm naturally spreads across the river by transforming its units to ‘wide-shallow’ form to open fish market and act as pedestrian bridge. During high tide, units transform to ‘narrow-deep’ form to separate the system to make way for ship access.
