Mohammad Omar Khalil is a painter and master printer. Born in Burri, Sudan, he moved to the United States in 1967 and settled in New York where he has taught printmaking at Columbia, Parsons, Pratt and NYU. This year marks his 50th year as a printmaker.
As a collagist he weaves fabric, shreds of posters and found objects with the marks of his own hand. The works dream-like quality carries a nostalgia for his homeland.
