The Psalmist, 2013, drypoint, etching and aquatint
7.0625 x 8.125 inches
The work is a tribute to the legendary biblical figure whose poetry has lived on
through the ages, inspiring civilizations.
The art-deco multi-shaped profile breaks down the facial features to represent the
multi-faceted life of David—king, poet, warrior, lover, chosen one — so divinely inspired.
Blue ink was selected to imply both royalty and a testament to the Israelite people.
Emanating from his mouth (at the right) is a curled shape which represents
the poetic words spoken through his psalms and praises.
