Integrative Studio Class 1-Finding Myself photo assignment

I chose this picture because it represents the fact that New York is a concrete jungle, this reminds of Singapore, a place that I have grown up in, after living there for so many years, I can confirm that Singapore could also be considered to be a concrete jungle.

I chose this image of a community garden because of the generous amount of greenery in this aprk. This is something that I can relate too because along with an Concrete Jungle, Singapore is also known to be a Green City. This is something that reminds me of home, before Singapore was discovered, it was a jungle.

Ever since I have come to New York, I realized that no matter which location you are in the city, you are able to see the other end of the avenue. I really liked how this city is designed and the grid format used for the organization. I then related to the fact I am studying design, how the design world is filled with so many avenues and so many opportunities to do something new.

This is an image of the farmers market in Union Sqaure, I took a picture of this because this reminded me of the street markets in India, where vendors sit and sell their produce along the edges of the streets.

This the Rockefeller Centre- observation deck. I used this image because this is one of the most iconic and a big attraction for tourists that come visit New York, i thought this would relate well with me because one of the major tourist spots or iconic attraction was the Merlion.

This is an image of the freedom tower from the bottom, this show the magnanimity of the city of New York, I really appreciate the generosity and opportunities that this city could produce for me.

I used the 5th Avenue street as one of my pictures, as 5th avenue is considered to have one of the best and most high end fashion and stores in New York City, this is something that I could relate to because the 5th avenue is parallel to the ‘Orchard Road’ in Singapore, where all the high end stores and shopping is located.

I chose this picture of time square to show that hustle of the city and how crowded it is, this reminded me of Bombay in India, Bombay is considered as the New York of India.

This is the image of a flower that I saw at the farmers market, this related to me as the flower symbolizes loyalty and positivity which qualities that I aspire to have.

I chose this picture because of the rain in New York, the heavy rains reminds me of the heavy rain in Mumbai and Singapore.

This is Indian food, which represents my Indian culture and something that has been a big part of me my whole life.
