Cheryl Zibisky is an artist who is born in Detroit, however she has been raised down in the South. She lived in New York. While in New York, she really enjoyed capturing the urban life that she was surrounded by. She was also able to discover her love for food while she photographed different restaurants for the New York Magazine.
From her website, I can see that she is a photographer and she photographs many different types of locations and people. She focuses on taking pictures of interiors in a hotel or hospital, all the photos that takes are very minimalistic and bright. I really like the way she always has an element of white in all her pictures which creates a serene and calming effect. She also tries to incorporate different patterns within her pictures. She has pictures of resorts and hotels, she is able to capture of the richness and the luxury of the hotel really well, making the viewer feel like they should be going on a holiday or wanting to visit the place. She does hospitality photoshoots which cover a lot of different locations through the hotel and resort and portrays different aspects. The main theme I see is the theme of showing that this place is a known for its relaxation and luxury.
From her other work, she is able to capture people in their real element. I also saw that she takes pictures of waste products, and organizes her waste in a very interesting forms and photographs it, which I think is super interesting because usually when someone thinks of waste, it usually creates a disgusted sense, however the photographs look very minimalistic and interesting.
