For the final submission, I decided to work with Nitya on the project, like we did for the first one.
When thinking about the final project, we both initially wanted to focus on expanding the idea with the stickers. However due to the situation at the moment, both the countries (India and Singapore) were on lockdown, making it difficult for us to go out and about raising awareness through the stickers.
We then thought it would be a good idea to focus on the issue that we have now itself. We had a lot of different ideas, such as having meditation sessions or yoga sessions and going live on social media. However, exploring that idea further, we learnt that there wasn’t a large audience being tackled compared to if we were to post surveys and questionnaires. This makes it more likely for people to respond as it is kept anonymous.
It was important for us to respect the responders privacy by blocking their names as they may not want everyone to know what they are going through. Through this we were to learn and create a space where we were able to gather most of our information.
We started posting on our story, asking people how they felt about Covid-19, their country going on lockdown and quarantining or self isolating themselves.
Here are the stories that we put up:
we put up the same story multiple times to see if we were able to get responses, and see if people from different locations of the world could respond.
Here is a compilation of the responses that came in
Here are some of the main words that we were able to take away from the responses.
We then thought the most impactful way of making a difference at this time is by making a short video using the phrases and words that we got as responses
