·Watch the documentary about Charles and Ray Eames. Whether architecture, art, graphic design–no matter what they were designing, it was for everyday life.
Choose a moment in the film where you can see yourself. Maybe it’s an object you desire. Maybe it’s a chair you wish you had for your own desk.
Take a screengrab and write 100-150 words about why you chose that moment and what is in your image
Post the image and text to your LP.
I think for me the moment that I felt I could see myself was when this device that slides down and makes a sound from a small ball appeared. I’m a fun-loving person, and from a very young age, I would be involved in the design of my house every time I moved to a new one. Charles and Ray’s home was filled with fun things that made me feel like this was my ideal home. As the documentary says, “A home can be simple, but a life can’t be simple.” Keeping things interesting is a way to honor our lives.
