Jeremy Varon, Associate Professor of History, participated in several activities in protest of Guantánamo.

He was featured in an article in the Guardian, “US activists to launch Guantánamo protest along camp’s perimeter” and wrote an article in The Hill, titled, “Thanksgiving at Guantanamo.”

The subject was also featured in a Youtube video where activists in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba with the group Witness Against Torture held a Thanksgiving fast outside the U.S. military prison in solidarity with the hunger-striking prisoners. 107 detainees are still held at the prison, 47 of whom were cleared for release.
