Aaron Jakes wins dissertation award

Aaron Jakes, Assistant Professor of History at Eugene Lang College and NSSR, was awarded the Middle East Studies Association’s 2015 Malcolm H. Kerr Award for the best dissertation in the social sciences for his NYU doctoral thesis entitled “State of the Field: Agrarian Transformation, Colonial Rule, and the Politics of Material Wealth in Egypt, 1882-1914.”
