Lang Alum, Steven Frenda, co-conducts a study of sleep deprivation leading to false confessions

A post-doctoral fellow in Psychology at The New School for Social Research and Lang Alumni, Steve Frenda (Psychology, ’06), leads a study of sleep deprivation leading to false confessions, which are among the most widely cited reasons for wrongful convictions. As a new study in the latest Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences shows, sleep-deprived people are particularly vulnerable to signing off on them.
