Christen Clifford, faculty in First Year Writing, completed a 2 week residency at The Museum of Motherhood in St Petersberg, working on a manuscript about Rape Culture. She will be making an evening of performance, reading and healing with the students of her What is Rape Culture? class on March 27th at Dixon Place at 7:30. She has art in shows Post Election (September Gallery) and Nasty Women (Knockdown Center). Nasty Women raised over 40 K for Planned Parenthood. As part of the Nasty Women show she curated the panel, Power Share/Power Surge, which featured Ashton Applewhite, Pamela Sneed, and Ayana Evans.
She read at Terrazza 7 as part of a ‘Re-Inaugurate Democracy’ event (with Queens poet laureate) in Jackson Heights, Queens for the PEN’s #writersresist on Feb 1st. She also performed at Art After Trump at Housing Works Bookstore. Her video art is featured in The Feminist Art Project at SoHo20 Gallery. Finally, she will be performing in Girls, Girlz, Grrls at Cobra Club, Bushwick, raising money for Emily’s List.
