Integrated Seminar 1 Reflection

Throughout this class, I was exposed to different styles and forms of writing. I really enjoyed reading different author’s memoirs and being able emphasize and  drawn to certain elements of the story, whether or not I was personally able to relate to them. Having to continually write reflections and our thought processes throughout our readings  helped me analyze and focus on highlighted aspects or themes portrayed in the readings as well as develop stronger sense of character through sensory and visual detail.  It helped me go beyond the text we were reading and consider what the author was trying to communicate, or why and what the author was making us feel for a character. I enjoyed the idea of expanding and recollecting our memories of the past, and even creating new memories as an element to strengthen our reading. It helped tie in together the sense of self and amplify our individual voices through our writing. I was fascinated by the  expansion and misleading memories embedded in us and  how we can use it to create something we can resonate with and give us stronger ideas in creating different forms of art.
