For my Color Study project in Integrated Studio 2, I was compelled to study the color blue. I knew what the pigment meant to me but I had never quite been sure of its historical implications. Since what it meant in the past and what means to me varies, I thought it would be engaging to create two separate pieces of the colors different interpretations. I want to explore blues historical color connotation as well as my own. With the two pieces, I would place them next to one another to juxtapose the (likely) difference of my piece regarding my ideas of blue and a piece I would do regarding its associations. In my initial idea, I urged to push myself further and thought making videos to place aside each piece would extend my study into another interest I have. However, I decided that if I finish the pieces, I will then allot time for the video since they are and have been my main idea.
The two pieces will both be drawn in varying mediums such as graphite, colored pencil, and pen. I may include other materials such as glitter, stickers, rhinestones, etc. They will be placed side by side on a white/black matte board.
