Prompt: How do we find meaning in personal objects/possessions. How do objects become symbols and form language systems/alphabets in our personal lives as well as other cultures. How do we define their significance and communicate that to others. Applying elements of gestalt, color theory, and Illustrator tools you will each create 3 symbols which originate from your artifacts. You will be using the pen tool to draw them out and the scissors tool, pathfinder tool (+shape modes) and/or various other manipulation tools to invent your symbols from the original contour pen drawings. Use color, stroke, and fill to see how your symbols will culminate into a seamless collection/family of 3 symbols. Consider how you will layout the 3 various symbols along with the contour/outlines and scans of your personal artifacts. Keep in mind how your fellow peers will read and comprehend the layout of your symbols and their origin from your personal Artifacts.
