This is a picture of me on set. I am talking through one of the scenes with one of the actors. This was a cool moment because this was the first scene was shot and where I got completely locked in to the process. This is when it all started to feel real.

Project Description
Short film: Leon is in his early 20’s, at an age where he should be enjoying his youth. Instead, he wakes up every morning unfulfilled and unhappy with his life. He works in the mail room at an office job that his friends dad got him. His life lacks color (Literally). Until one day he spots a girl on the street with long purple hair. It was the first time in a long time that he has seen real color in his life. Every new day begins to change, some days he can only see black and white, other days he can see full color. With out realizing Leon has begun imagining a new life for himself. A life with color. As he begins to realize that every time he goes to sleep in the dull reality he wakes up in the colorful dream world and every time he goes to sleep in the colorful dream world he wakes up in the dull reality. He’s faced with the question, Do you want to live for today? Or live for tomorrow?

What Form will your Final Project Take?

Short Film

Who was supporting you in with work?
Nathan Fitch

How has this project has been impactful or transformative — for you personally or for those this work has impacted:
This project was one of the most challenging things i’ve ever done, which is what made it so impactful to me as a filmmaker. I was tested over and over again. I did a lot of things right and some things wrong which was what I expected and was so awesome because I got to learn so much. The best part about this project was how amazing it was to collaborate with my peers. It was truly such a beautiful experience that completely transformed myself as a filmmaker and a person. Executing this project opened my eyes to what I am capable of and the possibilities I have to keep creating. I felt and still feel this experience propelling me forward in this field.

What would you do differently? How would you advise a student who is going to do something similar?
I prepared so much for this project in so many different ways. That being said, I still could’ve prepared more. So advice I would give a student who is interested in doing something similar is prepare as much as you possibly can and then when you feel like you’ve done all your preparations, do more. There is always more to prepare for, find any and all possible holes.

Are you going to publish or print your work? If so, where?
Yes, I plan on it. I am going to be looking at various film festivals to submit to!

These are two stills from the film. Nothing is edited yet so these are completely raw. I just these two stills because they could possibly be two of the most important shots of the film.

This still is from one of my favorite scenes in the film where the main character is experiencing happiness and hope for the first time.

Last but not least, I wanted to include this still photo because this shot will be the most different after the editing is complete. The much deeper meaning of the film is first introduced in this shot.

Short summary
It truly was one of the best experiences of my life that I will remember forever. My first film. Now that is just such an amazing experience that I will hold with me till the end.
