Internship Description:
I was a Digital Intern for Mezz Entertainment. Mezz Entertainment was a Music/Talent Agency based in New York City with clients and venues in NYC, Miami, Los Angeles, etc. It was a remote position, therefore, I worked mostly at home but was able to go to in-person events for PR materials. Personally, I worked more on website design and client branding, which included editing photos, videos, design layout, weekly meetings, client meetings, and poster design.

Who was supporting you in your work? How did you work with them? Roanne Mesirow. I worked closely with my mentor through attending meetings together and then also one-on-one. I was always in communication and she was very supportive and friendly in guiding the work along.

How has this project has been impactful or transformative — for you personally or for those this work has impacted:
It was impactful in that I learned teamwork and got real world experiences in a start-up company.

What would you do differently? How would you advise a student who is going to do something similar?
I would be more assertive in asking for what type of work I like to do.

How is this experience connected to your academic work?
This expands in my area of study to the real-life interactions I made with fellow colleagues and team members. It gave me communication skills, time management skills, interpersonal skills, and I got to apply my design and psychological skills into the design of their website.
