2/19/19
I am studying the depictions of Roman gods and goddesses created during the Italian Renaissance in the 15th and 16th centuries as they are used in today’s culture. I want to find out whether or not there are underlying psychological reasons as to why people are drawn to these paintings, and why they seem so timeless. I want to help readers understand why people continually base trends and artworks off of historical pieces, rather than seek complete originality. To become successful, aspiring designers and artists have to understand why it is important to reference to the past in new works.
