Core 4D Seminar: Lecture 1 Response

I found the first lecture of the semester to be quite interesting. I enjoyed the various examples of animations that were shown. Each artist had their own distinct style, and recognizing that has made me want to work harder this semester to develop my own style. A few of the sound effects were a bit startling though. It made me realize that everyone has their own taste and audiences. It’s comforting to know that even though not everyone will like my work, there will always be a few who do. I think it would be a challenge to try and create a traditional animation, without the use of Photoshop or digital drawing implements. Watching the short film that had a red hue was so eye opening, because before technology animators used only paper and pencil to create mimic movement.
