Costume for characters in a modern dance performance:
-Choose a Performance from one listed below.
-Choose two (opposing) characters you would like to design for.
-Do visual research of at least 3 different existing productions-
-original- first performed if possible.
-traditional production
-different version/parody/abstraction
for example The Wiz for The Wizard of Oz
or The Hard Nut- for The Nutcracker suite.
I chose to do Pumba and the Warthog.
The process for this was the same as the other two. Instead the material I used was garbage bags.
I ironed the garbage bags until they melted together. The way I created the shape was by ironing on a lower temperature and allowing the garbage bag to cool in the shape I needed. I also sewed the triangles together after being folded.
