For my final project, I want to evoke the feelings and thoughts that can be provoked by social media culture. I specifically want to focus on Instagram culter. How do people interact with images and how does this change us and our identities. I want my project to make people question how we interact with symbols in society. By symbols, I mean things that we have come to expect like a foam hart in a latte. Then take that same foam hart and digitizing in by creating a picture, this act makes it significant and then it is made more significant by being published time and time again. This image should create barddum, yet we cope with this repetition and still subscribe to seeing it. I find this complex situation fascinating and want to expose it for what it really is and see how people react.
I will be doing this by creating a video/audio piece, my video will show theses repeated images and be accompanied by audio that askes overwhelming question about how we think. This video is intended to bombard the viewer into thought about there identity and how it changes via social networking a.k.a. Instagram.
Timeline this week I have collected some of these recurring images and tried to find one from all around the world that was shockingly similar. I have also put much thought into illustrating the effects I want my audio to have. I have also contemplated the delivery of my project because I want to enforce this concept of spreading and viral. For now, I am thinking an airdrop but its possible there is a more compelling way. Next week I will start orchestrating the video and creating the exact layout for the soundtrack. The week before its due I will finalize it and create a webpage for it, in addition, I would like to airdrop it to random people and see their reactions.
Deliverable
-so I could pursue with the video
-or a virtual audio walk in a way having people search certain things on Instagram and listen to my pice
I would really like some more feedback on what would be most compelling.
