What is unique about my work is that there are two sides on it. On the front, it shows the inside of me and the back side of it shows what is outside of me. There are drawings of organs and bones on the front side, arranged randomly with the photos of my body parts. I put the organs and bones as symbols for “inside” because the photos I put are of the parts as innermost as possible. On the back side of my work, I put magazines, receipts, fabrics, and the clothes tags, to imply the outermost layer of people, which is clothings. I put the colored pvc films in between, which can be seen from both sides through the different shaped opening. I tried to express that there is a transparent yet colored connection between inside and outside of me. The reason why I put the poker card in the same way I did with the pvc films.
The materials I used on the front are gold reflecting paper. I chose gold and reflecting one because I wanted to give contrast between it and the black and white photos. It is like two extremes of emotions, like happiness and depression. I used magazines, receipts, fabrics and clothing tags on the back. I used the collage as a method to put the materials together.
