Write two main relevant facts about The Smuggler, what critical event inspired him to become a smuggle? He is breaking the law, how? How does it differ from the play breakers I sew in Illicit trade?
- How Raphael became a smuggler is by starting to help refugees go across the border. He met one Sudanese man at the French-Italian border, who is seeking for help to go across the border in order to apply for asylum. He decided to help him and his friend to go against the border on their foot, through the Alps. This is against the law because it is actually considered a smuggle.
What is the difference between this smuggling method and the other types we sew in the movie in class? The Illicit trade, by National Geographics.
- The difference between the type of smuggling Raphael did and the other types in the illicit trades is that most of the illicit trades involve complicated process. What Raphael did was trying to help refugees get through the border so they can flee the country. But most of the times illegal trade of humans through borders involve people who are trying to avoid the raiders in order to have themselves work for another illegal business. And often times they involve risk in human lives. Especially smuggling of products, drugs, and organ trafficking aims to earn benefits and the outcome is a huge amount of money, so the processes of production are in massive scale.
