La.Li.Lu is the toy that “born” with me and he has spent my life with me. He is a sheep toy with a music box inside him. My Grandma made a lullaby according to the music that plays in the music box. The song tells the adventure story of LaLiLu in my dream, and it has always successfully put me into sweet dreams. He is my knight of dreams, my guard of nights.
The process of conveying my feeling towards him was very challenging because I have thousands of complexed mixed emotions and it’s difficult for me to express it through speechless media. This is the first time I have ever photoshopped something so broad and vague, I think I have successfully played around with the materiality and using atmosphere to “talk”. What’s really challenged for me was the composition because I want to compose all kinds of ideas in different shape and a different color in one single picture, and everything just starts to overlap each other and it’s difficult to clarify.
However, in the end, I did make this piece expressing my idea of dreaminess, funkiness, and calmness.
