American Latvian Association. A wrong thing that americans usually do is never be contury specific. When I do research about ethnic groups in NY, many diagrams show mixed list of languages, continents, skin colors, and religions. After a little, I finally got a country specific list of ethnic groups that settled in FiDi(specifically in Battery Park City). They are "Greeks, Turks, Armenians, Slovaks, Poles, Hungarians, Lithuanians, Ukrainians, Czechs, Latvian, and Irish". Among these, I am attracted by these East European countries for their traditional clothing. Latvian clothing was my favourite.

This is how lower Manhattan looked like in the 19th century. I personally like this neighbourhood better the skyscrapers we see today. On the lower left corner is the Castle Clinton. It was built in 1808. "On August 1, 1855, Castle Clinton became the Emigrant Landing Depot, functioning as the New York State immigrant processing facility"

What is Financial District about? Money. You don't usually see street arts in FiDi, especially the ones about touchy subjects or radical lines.

I feel 60s or 70s is interesting that the first immigrants generation after WWII were becoming the leader of the society. Some might keep their origins, some just blended into the explosive world.
