On Wednesday, November 15, at 7p, the Grace Paley Teaching Fellow Diana Goetsch is delivering a public craft talk. This lecture will be about the “central channel”—something well-known in contemplative disciplines, though rarely discussed in connection with writing. Understanding the central channel, and how to apply it to writing, can reveal much about our craft, and open up our teaching.
Diana Goetsch has published eight collections of poetry, and her work has appeared in many magazines and journals, including The New Yorker, Ploughshares and The Pushcart Prize Anthology. Her teaching credits include higher education in Oklahoma and Kentucky and 21 years in the NYC public schools, where she founded a creative writing program for incarcerated juveniles.
