Objectives:
- Moving from using 3D materials to create a 2D portrait to constructing a 3D object.
- Practicing wire manipulation.
- Practicing the usage of tools.
Instructions:
- Select a Household Object (school tool, kitchen object, personal item – shoe, cellphone, etc.), an animal, or a fruit.
- Use the wire you purchased for assignment #4.
- This time you will create a 3D form using the selected item as a template (not a flat 2D as the portrait assignment).

Reflection:
Completing this project gave me a new understanding on the art of wire crafting and how difficult it is to transfer the form of an object. I used a milk jug, which seemed as if it would be easy but proved differently once I started. I chose to use an organic design because I felt that it would both capture the shape of the jug very well and it would also add a new element that wasn’t there prior to. I wanted to keep it airy and open, and I felt as if this was the best way to do that. I learned a lot about connecting wire that I hadn’t learned yet because I’ve only worked with wire in a 2D setting so far. This was challenging but I’m very happy with how it ended up turning out.
