Reflection:

I really enjoyed this assignment. Prior to this I had done both additive and subtractive sculptures, so this wasn’t completely new territory, but I hadn’t done either in a while, so this was a refresher. I began with the additive sculpture and used it as an opportunity to create a mug like the ones I used to make. I had a lot of fun and I got to see how my style of illustration and 3D art both changed over the past two years, which was really fascinating to me. I will say that this assignment did take me a long time, but in the end it was worth it, because I learned a lot from carving out of the soap and restarting when the first soap sculpture didn’t work out.
