1: Bamboo Theater is a theater that surrounds by a lot of bamboos. Xu Tiantian has designed a theatre stage that is a circular ring of bamboo plants roped up on top to form a dome. It was in production around 2015/5-2015/8. The bamboo theater is made of bamboo. And it used to let the Chinese opera singers perform their shows in natural places.
2: A World of Sand is a sample of all the sand that collected in the whole world. This sample of A World of sands was created by Nadine Sterk Lonny van Ryswyck and Atelier NL. It was in production around 2010 and ongoing. It collects material from all over the world like shells, stones, fossils, glass block glass tubes, sand, cork, rubber band, printed data, pine box. It is used to let all of the people engage in this experiment of collecting all of the samples of sand.
3: Tree of 40 fruits is one of a series of fruit trees created by artist Sam Van Aken using the technique of grafting. Designer and artist Sam Van Aken use the century-old grafting technology to combine multiple fruit varietals on one single tree. He grafting apples, peaches, plums, apricots, and cherries, in effect of creating an orchard on one tree. It makes old technology to make a brand new art piece is really cool.
Reflection:
Copper Hewitt is a really interesting museum to go to. It makes me really enjoy the time when I visit the museum. And it shows us how many different materials and technology we can learn from nature and how many different materials and technology we can create. I hope we can have more time like that to visit some other museum.
