Artist Statement:
For my bridge one project, I choose to use a white oversize T-shirt as the base. I use the acrylic to draw a jellyfish on the front side and a fire on the back: I use the leftover fabric to make some string to connect the front side and the backside. My personal story is basically talking about my personality which is really contradictory and why I choose to learn the art as my major. So based on my personal story I gave a theme of my project-contradictory. And the jellyfish means the aqua and the fire on the back certainly means the fire. And the sea means the dreams of freedom and the fire means the passions for art.
My personal story is that I always went to the Santa Monica beach in California. Santa Monica beach is also one of my favorite beach, but every time I went there something happened to me. One time when I walk through the beach with bare feet and I was enjoying the sunlights, sudden pain went through me. I was wondering what was happened to me, and I saw some red colors on the sand. I lift my feet and figured out what was happened to me that a jellyfish is hidden underneath the sand stings me. My feet swell up quickly and the burning feeling remain fresh in my memory.
