Bridge 5 – Final LER IS1

Bridge 4 Reflection:

For this reflection I choose Bridge 4. All of my visual research for this project really stemmed from the research that I was doing for Seminar. Through that research I was able to form an idea for Studio. It all came together very quickly in the end. I was very happy with the outcome of it for Studio, the Seminar piece could use a little more work but I’m not too disappointed with it either.

What learning/ learning topic or learning process did you find yourself using throughout the semester from Seminar?

Workshopping/peer review

Where did you use it (in life, in class, in other classes)?

Well in class we used it while reviewing other people’s work in class and when people would ask me to look over paper for them.

How did you apply it?

I eventually adapted how critical I was of other people’s work to my own.

When was it useful?

It was useful in those exercises in class and when I applied it to my own writing.

Where do you think it may be useful in the future?

Any time I’m reviewing others or may own work.

What learning/ learning topic or learning process did you find yourself using throughout the semester from Studio?

Symbols

Where did you use it (in life, in class, in other classes)?

In class I used symbols in every piece I created and they continue to come up in daily life as well.

How did you apply it?

I applied it within those pieces and really tired to capitalize them.

When was it useful?

Useful whenever I needed a greater understanding of something.

Where do you think it may be useful in the future?

In future projects and everyday life.

Personal Learning

What learning have you made personally this year that you want to bring into your future semesters? As a student, as a person, in a new school environment, with new classmates, or in any other way!

I learned that I should speak up more! My opinion is valuable and sometimes I have something interesting to say, I was scared to express that when school started.

Personal or Class Learning

What is one ah-ha that you had? What did you learn

One ah-ha I had was that I should stop caring so much about what others think of me and my work, as long as I’m happy nobody else’s opinion should matter. After I had this realization I really started to have fun in college.

Note to the future

If you could tell future students anything from what you learned during your first semester in college, what would it be?

I would tell them that its going to be a lot more work than you thought it was going to be. Plan your time accordingly.
