Combination of Platonic Solids

“There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man … a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.”

Rod Serling

This quote is what inspired me to make this project. Using three platonic solids (tetrahedron, octahedron and dodecahedron) I created a piece that represents any individual’s ideas. To make the structure stand up I used a wired internal structure, that holds the bristol board platonic solids and connects through one of it’s angles. The tetrahedron needed added weight so it is filled with clay and soldering wire, as well as it is anchored to the foam board through a wire.

I used tape to paste the aluminum foil, in order to give it a sci-fi look.
