Finger Slayer

A game I’ve been playing for a couple of years and I would say I really like is called “Finger Slayer.” It is a mobile game that consists on taking your finger out of a guillotine, testing your reaction and nerves because you have to take it out the moment the blade is falling, not before. The game works by detecting your finger which must be placed in a specific section of the touch display, this place is under the guillotine in the lower third of the screen. Other versions of the game ask you to put your finger on a shark mouth, lion mouth and countless other skins. But as we learned last class, the core mechanics are still there. This is placing your finger were desired, and taking it out the moment you seethe thread coming to you and hear “GO”, not before, not after, just at that precise moment. Taking it out too early means you lost. The more times you survive to this guillotine, the more points you keep scoring. This score can be compared to your friend’s score or the world records. Obviously, the idea is to get as much points as possible. I find it very fun because is nerve thrilling, it is like watching a suspense movie in which your heart is beating a lot. Also, the game is very simple, has second to none rules and it is actually a game you somehow naturally how to play since it uses your natural reactions and common sense of not getting your finger cut in half. Of course it’s not natural to put your finger on purpose on a guillotine, but in case you had it you would take it away as soon as possible. Here comes the only rule of the game which is not getting your finger out before you hear “GO” and see the blade coming. It’s because of this rule that you are in a stress situation that you can’t help but enjoy.
