The area of the building is also colossal, encompassing over 2,700 square meters, which allows it to fit 4,000 worshippers. The cathedral’s stained-glass windows are some of the most renowned in the world, beautifully portraying biblical scenes with rich detail and color. This remarkable structure‘s construction started in 1863 and ended in 1888, representing the combination of European style and local craftsmanship, giving the cathedral its notorious status as a southern landmark.
