During the museum visit, my partner found himself attracted by Japanese gusoku armors, particularly how they are constructed differently from Classical Medieval armors and have a unique appearance. He also identified an interest in Japanese culture.

Ideas and Prototypes
4 Ideas sketches
I eventually went with the design of the prototypes on the right. Inspiration drew from Japanese sushi slab and Asian bamboo braiding products such as bamboo mats. The connecting material being chosen is red ropes, drew from the design element of gusoku armors. I was also looking to make a structure that allows the mask to be pulled up, but as I cut strips in the same length for the prototype, the strips could not overlap. Therefore, I cut out strips in different lengths for my final product.
