Bridge 1 Final

Sight, smell, taste, hearing, and touch associated with food are all highly vivid, and every house has its own unique style of making food. Thus, the dishes made by my parents are some of the most memorable things I remember about home. Despite the fact that it is a daily and common task, the people that you choose to eat with can make it special and memorable. I made a collage through photoshop using pictures of the dishes that were made by my mom and a picture of a mirror that sits near the front entrance that welcomes everyone into the house. Then, I took the collage, cut it into strips, and made a model of a round dining table and four chairs that represent my dad, my mom, my sister, and me.

I was inspired by Anthony Caro’s Table Piece LXXXVIII. I liked how he took strips of painted steel and placed them on the table to create movement. I loved how he decided to put it on a table and titled it Table Piece. I chose to create a composition on a table like Caro’s since my memory is based off from food.
