Part III. 4&7 of Climate Change and Cities

Chapter 4 of Part III talks about the various energy system that impacts the environment and exemplifies statistics from wide variety of different cities around the world. The first and foremost step toward solving this issue (or in any issue generally) starts from preventing ignorance from the people.  As our society is starting to prefer cities, and more and more people are starting to live together, we must work together to increase the awareness and involvement for these issues.  One of the ways we can avoid knowledge gaps are through campaigns. This chapter also emphasizes the need for climate planning and policy/program implementation, advocacy, data collection, and academic research.

Chapter 7 of Part III illustrates specifically about how climate change impacts human heath in both urban and rural areas, especially pertaining to the city dwellers. Climate change leads to many detrimental weather events, such as heavy precipitation, and when these disasters occur, people are left vulnerable to suddenly face these events without any knowledge on what to do. These events, like flooding, can kill thousands.
