the places I’ve lived

this drawing is about mapping and showing the locations of the three main places I have lived during my life. each colour represents a different country and the black dots represent my apartment / house. Paris- blue, Singapore- purple and Canberra orange. to me this also has a resemblance if the indigenous aboriginal art. with their use of lines, colour and dots to represent maps.

my mother

to me my mother represents a lot of my identy and who I am. at the end of the day I am more or less half of her. in piece I did is both my mother and my finger prints. mine are the top row, hers the bottom. I like this piece a lot. my mother and I had lots of fun making this, we enjoyed the process and after looking at both our finger prints we were able to see similar patterns between the two. it was also sweet to see the age with them. she is getting a bit older and seeing the deeper crease lines in her fingers was actually rather sweet. to me I think that the fade of the ink can also represent life. born into the world full and whole, slowly fading away until there is nothing left.

my best friend

this drawing is a sketch of my partner and I. he’s been my best friend for the past seven years and means everything to me. he has become a big part of my life and identy, helping, and supporting me to become the person I am today. I did this drawing on windows paint while talking to him. this sketch is very child like and fun. to me this drawing defiantly captures how I feel when I’m with him. standing on a sunny hill surrounded by beautiful flowers. i love this drawing, my friends and family have also mentions how much they adore it too.
