DRAFT ONE
My first drafts. these drafts are too up front and tradition. after presenting to my class we all agreed that they are rather basic. nice but basic. The posters which were my inspiration have some mystery to them however these posters. they say what it is and we all know what they are. having that bit of mystery can make the viewer more curious and perhaps even like and inside joke for the viewers who have watched. thanks top this feedback I will watch the trailers more. do further research and find the mystery.
DRAFT TWO
after looking back on my first sketches and then doing more research towards other artists I chose to make all my posters flow with a theme. the theme I made is 2-3 shapes with the colours that are most known to the film. with this I then added an image that also connects to the movie yet is not as obvious as I had before.
e.g Spiderman has a new villain which has metal arms. everyone is always smoking in house of Gucci. no time to die is about trying to find out this secret and in the matrix they are following a rabbit like Alice in wonderland, hence the pocket watch with a rabbit on it.
as for fonts I would like to have a better look and explore more suitable fonts. I also want to improve the colour in the posters.
Final
Over all, I think I produced work that more or less met the requirements I had set in the beginning. I do feel that I could have done more perhaps however these posters were designed to be simple. I personally struggled with this assignment. When I am making my art I like to go as far as I can and produce work with I am extremely proud of. With these posters I don’t know if I quite made it that far. Although like I said, I’m not too sure what to do/ how to get to that point. Im very new to the world of graphic design. I’ve found with the past two assignments now that I hold this vision in my head but get stuck with how to produce.
Obviously that is the whole point of all this, to learn and explore so for our future jobs we can produce work that’s is of high quality. In the end I think my posters are fun, they get the point across, and they all blend well together.
