My concept for my animatic is all about how the colors of my surroundings have changed during my move from San Francisco/Mill Valley to New York. I plan on opening the animatic from the view of my life in Mill Valley, featuring lots of yellow and green hued photos that are almost insipidly bright. Bird noises, wind, and other sounds of nature will slowly fade in. The second part of the video will be introduced calmly at first, but will quickly prove to be quite jarring, as the rich blues and grey of the New York photos sweep in with the chaotic sound of traffic and the hum of the city. Splashes of contrast will be thrown in – the texture of sand vs. the texture of brick, mountains vs. skyscrapers, and New York will begin to show its other colors too. It is a rainbow of a city, always alive, and yet the video will close with a more relaxed view, showing that New York can have its pockets of peace in the chaos.
