The instructions are as follows (I also typed them directly into the spreadsheet):
Instructions: In Column C or D, place your full name and e-mail address in one archives appointment time slot. The New School Archives can only accommodate two researchers during each time slot. You must advise of cancellations within 24 hours of your appointment. You do not need to be present for the entire slot. Don’t hesitate to e-mail archivist@newschool.edu with any questions or concerns.
We had no problems with sign up mishaps last year, although some individuals signed up, but then did not come to their scheduled appointment. It would be helpful if you emphasized in writing and in class the importance of updating the spreadsheet, if not for us then for one’s fellow students who might like that appointment slot.

reminded the students that they should bring a camera with them to their appointment. No self-scanning, photocopying or tracing is permitted, but cameras, laptops, and phones with image capture capability will help your students tremendously. Notebooks and sketchbooks are also welcome, but students should know that only pencils can be used around archival materials.
Feel free to contact us if any questions or concerns arise. Visiting an archives can be intimidating, and we want this to be a positive experience for everyone.
