Week 11

Observation: Animal Camouflage in nature

For this observation I researched animals that use camouflage in nature to blend into their surroundings and avoid predators. I noted the way many animals use repetitive patterns as effective camouflage, especially owls and seahorses. In addition, many lizards and insects used the lines on leaves in order to hide themselves in plain sight.

Material investigation: Fabric scraps

I tried to collect stray fabric scraps around school and made a collage of some of my favorites. Many were sheer so I layered them so see how the textures would interact. I will continue to gather fabric and other flat, flexible material for my final project.
