Discovering and Investigating Artists – Post Due by 10pm the day of class. (We may do this during class time sometimes).
Questions to remember:
How do we contextualize our work within the field?
How do we define practice as a form of research?
- Please take a moment to center yourself.
- Notice questions, concerns, thoughts, felt sense, emotions. See them and watch them leave.
- Allow yourself to notice an inspiration: word, element of design, theme, other sensory response.
- Do some internet searching to find an artist working with that which arose in you.
- Make an ELP Post.
The ELP Post should contain:
- Title: “Name of Artist – Inspiration keyword”
- The post should contain the inspirational keyword – or an explanation of how you got to the artist.
- The post should contain at least one link to the artist’s biographic information OR an artist statement.
- The post should contain at least 3 images (which link to source URLs).
- The post should have a Featured Image. The Featured Image should be a likeness of the artist (portrait).
- You should tag the post with the category “Artist”
