Discovering and Investigating Artists – Post Due Each Class

Discovering and Investigating Artists – Post Due by 10pm the day of class. (We may do this during class time sometimes).

Questions to remember:
How do we contextualize our work within the field?
How do we define practice as a form of research?

  1. Please take a moment to center yourself.
  2. Notice questions, concerns, thoughts, felt sense, emotions. See them and watch them leave.
  3. Allow yourself to notice an inspiration: word, element of design, theme, other sensory response.
  4. Do some internet searching to find an artist working with that which arose in you.
  5. Make an ELP Post.

The ELP Post should contain:

  • Title: “Name of Artist – Inspiration keyword”
  • The post should contain the inspirational keyword – or an explanation of how you got to the artist.
  • The post should contain at least one link to the artist’s biographic information OR an artist statement.
  • The post should contain at least 3 images (which link to source URLs).
  • The post should have a Featured Image. The Featured Image should be a likeness of the artist (portrait).
  • You should tag the post with the category “Artist”
