My first assignment for my Design Studio class was to research four basics, find the first documents version of this basic, and go to stores and find the basic and analyze its materiality, cost, seams, and looks. I chose a crew neck sweatshirt, blazer, button down, and jeans. We had to find 10 versions for each of the four pieces. I mostly went to stores but I also had to look up versions online.
