This was my shadow and secrecy project. In this piece I wanted the idea of how often times we like to keep secrets from ourselves, but they inevitably come out in one way or another.
The shape of the piece was inspired by the computer simulation game franchise called, the Sims. In the game you create people and control every aspect of their lives, above their head floats a little globe that is in the diamond like shape. There was no particular reason for this, besides the fact that I liked the shape and in a way it connected my idea to the idea of being human to me.
The shadows my piece created were randomized. When creating the piece, I wasn’t sure of what shapes the material would’ve produced. I think it relates to my original idea, because when people tend to share secrets it could be a spur of the moment decision and maybe more comes out than you want to share.
