My alter ego –

?

I’m going to be honest I’ve never put any conscious thought into this idea of my alter ego, but I think it may come out at times when I feel most powerful and most intimidating. Sometimes when I am listening to music, walking down even the busiest of streets my alter ego comes out. It’s a sense of confidence that takes over the way I cary myself. I feel sexier, more dangerous and my movements and composure begin to reflect this new personality – someone who’s allure comes not only from their conventional attractiveness but in a sense of danger. Like Megan fox in Jennifer’s Body: she’s hot but she could also kill you. Or Beatrix Kiddo in Kill Bill! …Something crazy badass like that.

I think I like this idea of being sexy but dangerous, almost like a sort of Tim Burton’s cat woman-esque super villain, because theirs something so powerful in this concept of using attraction as a means to persuade and confuse. In many films the villain with sex appeal is often harder to conquer because the hero faces trouble fully demonizing a malicious character if they’re physical complexion doesn’t match their intentions. If you think about it, villains are typically presented as abnormally ugly, sometimes even wildly deformed, because it dehumanizes them; their ugliness makes them easier to conquer without second thought to methods because they’re despicable inside and out. On the other hand a beautiful villain usually places a dilemma for the hero because they are typically unsuspected as being capable of true ugliness in their actions because of their physical beauty. In The Incredibles, Mr. Incredible never suspects Mirage because he finds her sexually appealing. In Batman Returns, Batman had trouble dealing with Cat Woman, trouble he doesn’t face at all with The Penguin. He finds himself in trouble because he appears to be falling in love with her when, in reality, she is a masked figure, her only visible features being her fit body, plump lips and bright blue eyes, all incredibly superficial features.
