The five visuals that I have created are under the words of the same theme. I pictured my dorm room in my junior year of high school and the first thing that thought of was the carpet my roommate, and I bought. The carpet made me thought of sleeping bag, which was used when someone comes for a sleepover. The sleeping bag then made me think of a tent, bonfire, and s’mores. Therefore, one of my objects is a s’mores. The second object I thought of was my makeup organizer box. The word beauty came into my head right away when I thought of the makeup box. Beauty makes me think of hair and hair makes me think of the mirror, so my second visual a vanity mirror. I pictured the JellyCat bunny doll on my bed, and it made me think of my birthday because I received the doll as a birthday gift. Birthdays make me think of cake, then candles, then wish. As a result, ‘wish’ is my third visual. I decided to make a coin as a visual for ‘wish’ because I think that coin represents one’s wish. For example, throwing coins into an old fountain or well. Another object in the bedroom is a bottle that I got from a senior during our school’s traditional ceremony. The bottle made me think of my high school, and my high school made me think of moon & stars, which is a word pair that we use a lot because it is a symbol of this tradition. The moon & stars made me think of sisterhood, which is the bond between that senior and me. I thought of our class ring when I think of sisterhood. Therefore, I decided to make a ring for my fourth visual. The last visual is a fish made of plastic bottles, plastic bags, and tape. The idea came from the stacked Poland Spring bottles I had in the bedroom. The bottles made me think of recycling, then the environment. The environment makes me think of the ecosystem and the endangered sea animals. In the end, I decided to make a fish that represents the fish population that suffers from accidentally eating plastic wastes in the sea.
