Bridge 1: Reflection – February 2019

How did you choose the images that you visualized? (What was it about the idea that made you want to visualize it?)

I chose the images by imagining the room where the objects were located. Then, for each object, I thought of 4-5 words before reaching the final word and make the objects out of it. I wanted to visualize that particular room because at that time I was thinking about rooms that held a lot of memories and is special, and this room strikes me the most. Moreover, the objects in the room were special to me when I was still using that room.

How did you choose the medium you selected for each piece? (What part of the ideal led you to choose the medium you chose?)

I wanted all the objects to relate to one another by using the same medium, which is used/recycled materials. Moreover, my fifth object is related to the environment, I thought it would be nice to use recycled materials.

How did you choose to connect/or not connect the pieces to each other?

I decided to have all the objects connected to my dorm in high school by thinking of the words that would have some connection to the dorm.

How did you feel (felt sense & emotional narrative) about showing your work?

It felt really nostalgic presenting my work and talking about how I arrived to the objects. It felt like I had gone back to high school.

What changes would you make to the work if you did another iteration?

I would try to make the fish look more like a fish because I think it looks more like an eel. I would also want to make the coin more realistic.
