Memory Mask (Paper)

This headpiece was made based on a childhood memory of me dressing up as a princess and danced with my father. I had a very vivid memory of it because I was in a snow white dress and there was music playing and my dad wore a cape and we just danced and had fun. I don’t see my father often when I was younger because he worked aboard and it’s just a memory that I’ve always cherished. I have made this headpiece with the concept of a princess crown but I also wanted to embrace my culture so I infused it with the what the element of the Chinese headdress — FengGuan, a piece of headdress that was mainly worn by royalties during mostly Ming Dynasty.
